Winter 2026/2027 Registration opens on Monday, 8/10!

We are looking forward to another great season of Sycamore Youth Basketball! We encourage you to register as soon as possible to guarantee placement on a team. Sycamore Basketball Club serves over 600 boys and girls in the District and space may be limited based on available gym time and volunteer coaches. You must live within the Sycamore Community School District to be eligible to participate. Registration ends October 1^st, 2026 with no Late Registration being accepted.

Coaches Needed! Volunteer during registration!

RECREATIONAL TEAMS are for boys and girls in grades 2^nd thru 6^th. Teams practice one night per week, play a 10-game schedule (games typically on Friday nights for 2^nd grade and Saturday and Sunday for 3^rd thru 6^th grades) plus a year-end tournament for 3^rd thru 6^th grades. After registration you will be contacted by your coach with your team’s details. FEE: $135/child*

SELECT TEAMS are available for boys and girls in grades 3^rd thru 6^th that are interested in playing advanced competition. Our Select Program requires a greater time commitment with practice two nights per week, a 20-game schedule and pre & post season tournaments. Players are placed on teams based on the evaluation of our tryout coordinator and their staff. If your child doesn’t make a Select team, they will be automatically placed on a Recreational team. FEE: $270/child*

We are looking forward to another great season of Sycamore Grades 7-12 Rec Basketball! We encourage you to register as soon as possible to allow us time to accommodate all interested teams and players. You must live within the Sycamore Community School District to be eligible to participate. Registration ends November 3rd, 2026 with no Late Registration being accepted.

Coaches Needed! Volunteer during registration!

SBC is supporting individual player registration for 7-12 grade.

For Grades 7-8, we will help to form the teams. Please note in the registration form if you are willing to be a Head or Assistant coach. Also, in the registration form, all players should select “I do not have a team. Please assign me.” If you have a desired coach, you can note that, and we will do our best to accommodate. It is typically a tight deadline between the wrap-up of Junior High tryouts and final registration deadlines for CPYBL, so we will do our best to have well-balanced team sizes, sufficient coaches, and enable all registrants to play on a team.

For Grades 9-12, we do not form the teams - you will continue to do this on your own, along with naming a Coach - but we will capture the cost and parent waivers individually to help streamline the administration. You will register individually and note your Coach's name in the registration form. Coaches, please contact Lynn Schuetz, hs-rec@sycamorebasketballclub.com, notifying me of your intent to coach and roster updates. Lastly, your team will need to purchase a uniform complying to the CPYBL rules. We recommend creating teams of 8-10 kids.

Additional Notes:

We hope to provide 7-8th grade uniforms if enough available, but this will depend upon total number of teams/players.
Teams will be registered to play a 10 game schedule with CPYBL plus a post-season tournament.
SBC does NOT guarantee practice time in a Sycamore gym for 7th-12th-grade teams.
Games will begin the first weekend in December. There is a 2-week holiday break (approx. Dec. 21st - Jan. 7th) where there will be no games
Each team will need volunteers to run the clock at home games, keep the scorebook and assist with gym monitoring
7th and 8th graders play in separate divisions.
9th and 10th graders play in the JV Division.
11th and 12th graders play in the Varsity Division.

Any violations to these rules or others can result in penalties up through suspensions for games or full season of coaches, players, and teams:

The following rules apply to all 7th-12th grade teams:

An adult coach MUST be on the bench for every game.
All coach must be 30 years of age or older. Exceptions must be approved by the league for ages 25-30. No coaches younger than 25 years of age are allowed.
All coaches must be registered and have completed all waivers.
All players on a team must live in the Sycamore School District.
All players must complete a CPYBL waiver on the CPYBL website.
Players that play on a junior high or high school team CANNOT play on a Rec team and compete in the CPYBL even after the Jr. High or High School season is over.
